My Story – How I fell in Love with Traveling
Getting Out
In January of 2003, just one day after my 21st birthday, the first and significant journey change my life began after my three years of military service. this was actually the first time I left my country with a one way ticket to Asia with nothing more than a backpack. This trip was planned to be a month off on the beach without too much planning due to a limited budget.
My first destination was Thailand. One week after landing in Bangkok, I knew that a month would not be enough to discover all the tastes and stories that the city has to offer me.
Sustaining
Soon I found work at a local restaurant for tourists that allowed me to work 3 days a week. This gave me the opportunity to earn a little more for the trip and some free time to travel the city and continue to taste it and discover it.
A month after Bangkok, I knew I had to continue the journey, but the budget was still a constraint. An Australian tourist offered me to travel to the beaches’ area. He knew some travel agency that was looking for an employee. After almost 48 hours on the road to the exotic beaches, I arrived at Koh Phi Phi island. I settled there for two months. There I realized what I was doing to helping people discover new places and get new memories and stories that they can tell their friends and family, This is what made me happy.
Reassess Finances
Since that day I knew for sure that I am not going to give up on that feeling. But soon, life required me to run a reality check. My finances ran out and so did my visa. I wasn’t allowed to stay in the country for any more time. So I buy a ticket back home and paused my journey for some time.
After being back home for two weeks I found a way to earn enough to allow myself to continue my journey. So, I worked for 8 months as a sales manager representative. 8 months later, I purchased a one-way ticket again and back on the road and sought to make a living from traveling full time. In 2017, I decide to publishes a blog named “Traveling With Style” which document all my travels.
As of 2018, and after 15 years on the road, I visited over 100 countries and city around the world, while I documenting every visit in videos, photos and blogs.
