Melia Koh Samui

When you’re brainstorming journey-themed ideas for your next vacation, Koh Samui offers a nautical inspiration with luxurious, yet unpretentious and inviting rooms.

Melia Koh Samui was created by a Spanish hotel brand that wanted to feature a luxurious addition on Choeng Mon Beach in its portfolio. Choeng Mon Beach is 5 km away from the airport and the hotel is only a short flight from Bangkok, making this luxurious resort the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. After arriving at the beach lodge, one will notice that it has exclusive qualities making guests feel right at home. You’ll adore Melia Koh Samui; it’s perfect for urban vacationers or for those who want to experience the warmth of a tropical holiday.

There are many activities and amenities on the resort to enjoy. I registered for the cooking class, where I got a quality introduction into Thai cuisine from a team of professional chefs. This really made me feel prepared for any Master Chef challenged thrown my way!

Within a short walk, there are many village shops to browse and lounges to enjoy a drink at. If your focus is more on health and fitness, there are several onsite activities available to use as well, including yoga and aerobics classes. Furthermore, one is able to visit the YHI spa with professional therapists trained in modern wellness and full body treatments. There is also a kids club that runs all day programs under close supervision.

My first room came with pool access, the room was designed with dark wood with a contrastingly bright décor, with many features anyone would love bringing into their own space. my second room it was the boat suites , they are made from traditional Thai-Chinese boats, and they provide a real cultural experience. No matter which room style you choose to stay in while visiting Melia Koh Samui, you left with a feeling of being pampered while living in luxury.

When I think about the dining experience at the Melia Koh Samui, it really combines the perfect mix of creativity and authenticity. The food at the restaurant tastes just as good as it looks with a unique Mediterranean flavor and plenty of local Thai classics. Not to forget, the restaurant reflects the traditional Thai ambience through its architecture and interior design. There’s plenty of options for everyone whether you’re looking for something to munch on while down by the pool or want something heartier to enjoy while sitting in one of their many restaurants. For example, KoKo Kitchen is a great breakfast spot if you like buffets, Breeza presents guests with a beautiful view of the sea, and Boat’s Bar is also available for cocktails and snacks.

If you follow my travel blog frequently, and feel we share similar tastes, you will love Melia Koh Samui for its attempts at being luxurious, while maintaining true Thai style. It captures the sense of water with nautical themed features, but is not overdone as one still feels very much at home and grounded on land.
